Lifeboat Fundraising Organisation – Volunteers
The RNLI Torbay Lifeboat Fundraising Team (TLF) work throughout the year to raise funds to support the RNLI and the two Torbay lifeboats, which serve all 3 towns within Torbay -Torquay, Paignton and Brixham. An ALB Station costs in excess of £215,000 a year to run so TLF’s fundraising is vital to support RNLI operations. Our local Fundraising Team, like most Charities, rely on enthusiastic volunteers to raise the funds necessary to maintain and operate our lifeboats. Whilst the RNLI is a National Charity our sea area of Torbay and beyond is among the busier in terms of ‘rescue services’ carried out and therefore we look to the local population to help us maintain this service. To put this into context the annual revenue costs of maintaining our volunteer crew and lifeboats for Torbay is close on £250,000 pa.
Do you have experience in leisure motor boating, sailing, boat angling, diving or kayaking and happy to pass on your knowledge? Could you spare some time to help save lives at sea by giving one to one safety advice to members of the public who go afloat?
We are seeking volunteers from across the Torbay Authority area and if you are willing to assist please make contact with any one of those listed above or the lifeboat station as below:-
Please remember the RNLI is a Charity relying entirely on voluntary contributions to establish and maintain the Crew and rescue assets.
