June Newsletter

One Crew Newsletter 31052025:

Recent Events:

Offshore & Bays Festival: On Sunday 11 May Brett Morton, owner of the Offshore Bar in Torquay in partnership with Bays Brewery staged their annual Food & Music Festival at the Banjo in Torquay.  A damp and murky morning soon gave way to a day of wonderful sunshine with many stalls selling their wares and some great live music from an assortment of local bands.
TLF volunteers managed the 2 Entrances where we asked attendees for a donation in order to get a wristband so they could purchase food and drink. Well, what a day it turned out to be, both our Crews went over to have a presence and help to draw the Raffle and, at the end of the day we raised £9,009!! A phenomenal result.  Well Done to everyone involved.

Coffee Morning at Berry Head Hotel continued to be popular with takings of £374

Our Fish Quay Market Stalls brought in £800 of sales & Cover the Flag and the 2-day Bucket Collection @ Morrisons made £335

Event includes a “Bad taste” shirt competition,  and maybe one of the Lifeboat crew might put together a Limbo bar, now that would be fun!!
And finally a word of “sadness”;- after more that 20 years our Crafts Team of Lysbeth, Annie and Janet have decided to hang up their knitting needles.  You may recall they received their Long Service Medals last year in our 200th Anniversary and were deservedly invited to a Garden Party at Buckingham Palace.  Thank you Ladies.

If anyone wishes to pick up where the girls left off, please let me, or them, know.

That’s it for now, and once again our grateful thanks to everyone who make our Events so successful.

Take Care

Peter
