“One Crew” Newsletter 21112024:

Recent Events:
John Risdon presented Part 2 of his fascinating “Torbay’s Maritime History” talk at Brixham Yacht Club on Wed 6 November to a good-sized audience bringing in £170 to the Branch.
The following Tuesday our Coffee Morning at Christian Community Centre raised £300.
However the day before (Remembrance Day), as the cock crowed, a number of sleepy-eyed Torbay RNLI members made their way to Paignton Railway Station where, following a short Service led by Helen Lovell-Smith and as the Last Post was played by Alison Sweet,  a bugler from Brixham Town Band, Ian Barnaby and Gary Fletcher placed a hand-made RNLI poppy wreath on the 6.35 a.m. train to Exeter where it was transferred to a main line train to Paddington.  There it joined a huge display of RNLI wreaths at the War Memorial on Platform One for the Service at 11 a.m. Thank you GWR, a lovely way to honour the Fallen.
