One Crew Newsletter 10022025:
Well, we have made a good start to the New Fundraising year with a nice profit at the New Year Party (Thank you Noreen, Wendy & Team) then Brixham Rugby Club welcomed us to the match against Royal Wootton Bassett where our half-time bucket collection raised £293 (with Andrew Medley’s son Rory scoring a Try) and Brixham eventually winning 34-33 (phew!!).
Rachel and Natalie at the Bullers Arms worked tirelessly serving our teas and coffees the following week which together with the Cakes on sale and the Raffle raised £317.
Next Events: This Wednesday is our Annual General Meeting at the Rugby Club starting at 2 p.m.
I am always pleased and impressed with the attendance numbers at the AGM so do come along to hear how YOU did during 2024. And from our Coxswain Andrew, some snippets of the Shouts they have dealt with in the past year.
Don’t forget, there will be NO pressure to serve on the Committee so you can sit back and relax and enjoy the refreshments at the end of the Meeting. I promise you a very entertaining time!!
Coffee Morning @ The Boathouse, Marine Drive, Paignton Wed 19 February 10a.m. – 11.30a.m.
Sited next door to the Redcliffe Hotel, a new venue for us is the well-refurbished Boathouse managed by “Fletch” (owner of Brixham-based “I-Scream”, not the lovely Gary from the Crew!). Parking is not exactly on-site but passengers can be dropped off very close to the front door and then parking is up Colin Road (opposite) with space on right hand side (double yellow lines only apply May-Sept) and there is a Pay Car Park a few yards further up (£3.10p for a 2-hour stay).
I did try to get the Redcliffe to allow us to park there for the short duration of the Event, to which they agreed…….at £10 per car!! So please, don’t be tempted, you’ll no doubt get clamped!
Usual features of the Event; £3 on the door, Cakes Stall and Raffle (Donations for either, greatly appreciated) and plenty of time for a good old “catch up” chat!!
2025 Memberships:
Despite a number of reminders in the Newsletters, in the Programme and at Coffee Mornings a number of Members have still not adjusted their Standing Orders with their bank from £3 to £5. If that includes you, please do see Anne at the AGM to pay the shortfall or contact her on 855329 or annethorp43@outlook.com.
Paid up Membership IS a requirement of admittance to the Meeting.
Take Care
Peter
