One Crew Newsletter 26022025:
Recent Events:
Coffee Morning @ The Boathouse, Paignton last week brought in a great £328 and considering the atrocious weather many thanks to all who came to support the Event. The Scala Hall Souvenir Stall (held on an equally wet morning) raised £123 plus we had a donation of £160 from a supporter who had given a Talk at a U3A group and Paignton Sailing Club raised £150 for us via various fundraising events over recent months.
Future Events:
Wednesday March 5th sees us return to Brixham Yacht Club for another of local historian, John Risdon’s popular Talks “Defence of the Realm – South Devon’s Coastline”.
Talk begins at 2 p.m. – 3.30 p.m. but food will be available from midday (the Chef WILL still be there!!) £5 entrance on the Door plus a small Raffle.
Tuesday 11th March we return to The Cimon Guest House, 82 Abbey Road, Torquay TQ2 5NP for our next Coffee Morning hosted by TLF Members Julia and Jamie. A lovely, warm and welcoming setting with the usual Raffle and Cakes available from 10 a.m. – 11.30 a.m.
Look forward to seeing you there; for those not driving the number 12 stops 100 yards past the Cimon at the medical centre
New Website – Help Wanted:
The RNLI has been developing a new website for all Branches to use in the future. Torbay is one of only 4 out of the 238 Branches to be chosen to participate in the trial before the websites go live.
We are looking for around 6 members to help us. It will be about how we find accessing the site and finding information. The trial takes place at Kings Quay on Thursday 13 March at 11.30 for just one hour.
Ease of use of our websites is essential, especially if you are a member of the public.
If you would like to help us please just let me know.
Event Programme:
Next week the Committee will be studying the absolutely jam-packed draft Programme covering May – August so we can distribute it in early April for your forward-planning on your calendars/Diaries. We will also be issuing the Programme digitally so you can easily import our events into your electronic Calendars.
