Torbay Carnival – Paignton Centre Wednesday 30 July from 7 p.m.
Torbay Lifeboat will be leading this parade around the town with a “D” Class Inshore Lifeboat.  Stormy Stan is likely to feature as usual, quite predominantly!!  25% of the monies raised on the evening will come to TLF. If you can help with the Bucket Collection please contact me.

“Yellow Welly Trail” Thursday 7 Aug – Tuesday 12 Aug 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
After some months of planning, we will be providing youngsters (under 16s) with some fun, a safety lesson and a chance to win some money.  The Trail will take participants through the centre of Brixham searching for 11 of our yellow wellies, placed in shop windows, which will provide clues to a water safety slogan.
We plan to be operating from our gazebo on the Quay opposite the “Man & Boy” statue.  Volunteers required to sell the Maps to the youngsters over the 6-day period, as usual, just a couple of hours if possible.  Again, let me know if you can help.

Boyce Brixham 100th Anniversary – Wednesday 13 August 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Our friends from Boyce Brixham celebrate their 100th Anniversary this year and have chosen Torbay Lifeboats to be their chosen Charity of the Year.  To raise money Staff will attempt to ride 100 miles on two static fitness bicycles outside their office on Fore St underneath our gazebo.  Volunteers are requested to manage our Bucket Collection, contact Nige on 07887 846934 or Peter 07484 634667

“Crew Fest” – Kings Quay, Saturday 16 August 10 a.m. – 11 p.m.
Yes!! the “beast” is back.  Following that exceptional 200th Anniversary event last year Ron Campion and his Team are returning to whet our appetites, be it with food, music or drink (probably all 3 judging from last year). However, our job is to extract as much ££££ from the visiting public by bucket donations at the Entrance.  As last year it will be simply donations (cash or card) so again, if you can spare an hour or two, please let me know.

Torbay Regatta – 23 – 25 August @ Beacon Quay, Torquay 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
We take our Souvenir Stall to this popular Event within Torquay Harbour, volunteers please contact Debbie 07799 055680 or Nige on 07887 846934

Annual Lifeboat Dedication Service @ The Quay (opp Bay Coffee) 6.30 p.m. – 8 p.m.
One of THE highlights of our season when the Crews bring the boats across the Harbour for a Service of Thanks for the selfless service they provide to the Bay and beyond. Traditional sea-related hymns and poems, some poignant sea shanties, Service led by our friend Helen Lovell-Smith of the Fishermen’s Mission with music provided by Brixham Town Band and All Hands On Deck and a special song from our own Roger (200 years) Smith.
Just come along and enjoy the atmosphere, this is always very well supported by locals and holiday makers alike. Brixham Sea Rangers will conduct the Collection at the end.

Fishing Competition: Slapton Beach Sunday 24 August
Crew member Darrell Farley has been in touch asking for a couple of volunteers to sell Raffle Tickets from Midday – 2 p.m. and assist with competitors “signing on”.  All proceeds will be coming to TLF.  Competitors will be paying £10 to enter so it should be another good fundraiser.  Contact Darrell on 07737846678 if you can help (although this Event is in Dartmouth’s area, their Fundraising Chairman has given us permission to use this as a Torbay fundraiser)

Torbay Steam Fair:
Just a sincere Thank You from me for those who have volunteered for this Event.  I can sleep well now (for the next day or so!!)

Coffee Morning Raffles:
And finally, Doug and Jen our stalwart Raffle Team, would appreciate any donations for the raffles at our Coffee Mornings, so please bring something along to keep their boxes full of goodies

Take Care
