Recent Events: Crew Fest 2025:
Well, the long-awaited results arrived yesterday and the outcome is:-
Net Income (after expenses) = £10,981.15p compared to £7,725.68 last year
That includes the 60% credit for Retail Sales in the Shop of £1,034.31p compared to £750 in 2024.
And if you add on the donations received during the Search & Rescue (SAR) Demo the following day the total for the whole weekend is a staggering £11,475.58p so a very heartfelt Well Done!!! to James Hoare, Ron Campion & Jerry Carter (Crew Fest committee) and of course to everyone who helped before/on and after the Event, it couldn’t have happened without you.
Annual Dedication Service: Another memorable night, if not at first, having no Lifeboats expected, due to operational Shouts!! However the Inshore Crew made it for the start with the ALB arriving at 7 p.m. fresh from towing a vessel taking on water, into Torquay Harbour. (that’s what it’s all about).
Brixham Town Band supported our Hymn singing and All Hands On Deck provided 3 appropriate Shanties whilst our own Roger Smith sang a plaintiff “Mingulay”. Helen Lovell-Smith conducted the Service with Cllr Barbara Lewis (Torbay Civic Mayor) and Clive Nicholls (Mayor of Brixham) reading Lifeboat poems. Brixham Sea Rangers passed the Buckets around and collected £420 for TLF funds. Thanks go to everyone especially Angela Osborne for all her organisation.

Tuesday September 23rd Coffee Morning @ The Trawler, North Boundary Rd 10a.m. – 11.30a.m.
Plenty of time for a catch-up with friends in this spacious venue. This time Cake/Jam Stall (donations welcome). Just £3 on the Door
Thursday September 25th Hoopers Fashion Show Doors open 6 p.m. (note change) – 9 p.m.
One of our most memorable annual Events when Hoopers present their Autumn//Winter fashion collection exclusively to us. “Bubbly” and canapes on arrival, Grand Prize Raffle, Late-night discount shopping. Tickets now available £10 from Hoopers, RNLI Shop and the Kiosk. Every penny comes to Torbay Lifeboats.
Tuesday October 7th Skittles @ Brixham Cricket Club – TLF Crew v Lifeboat Crew 6.30 p.m. – Late
Last year TLF were narrowly beaten into second place, however we are resolved to even up the score this year!! We start with food and a choice of ;- Scampi & Chips, Lasagne, Veggie Lasagne, Steak & Ale Pie with Chips or Mash, Cottage Pie with Seasonal Vegetables.
£12 p/p (pay on the night). Menu choices to me please NO LATER than 1 October, however if you intend to play but do not want to eat, please let Lynda Bestley (lfbestley@gmail.com) know by the same deadline date as she has the difficult task of organising the Teams.
