One Crew Newsletter 30122025:
Definitely my last this year!! But time for some “Christmas celebrations”.
Our friend Paul O’Brien and his “Just Sing” Choir performed as usual outside Sainsbury’s at The Willows the weekend before Christmas and surpassed themselves raising £1,326 which adding in Paul’s Gift Aid gave us a total of £1,657.50. Well Done to Paul and the Choir plus Dave & Barbara (Saturday) and Cathy & Hazel (Sunday) who took contactless card donations.
The other annual Christmas event is the Boxing Day Auction of “unwanted” Christmas presents held at the Brixham Yacht Club, my next door neighbour and newly enrolled Deputy Launch Authority Alastair Newhouse is the Auctioneer and he certainly IS NOT an amateur, he’s one of those people who could “sell snow to the eskimos”, and he proved it so well that, after a frantic hour of bidding we had raised £1,050 for our Lifeboat Station.
So we had a great Christmas of fundraising, except for some of the Crew who sadly were engaged all Christmas Day on a tragic “shout”, joining Exmouth and Teignmouth at the Budleigh Salterton incident which no doubt you gave heard/read about.
2026!!
Well, we celebrate the arrival of the New Year with our NY Lunch at Brixham Rugby Club on Wednesday 7 January 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. Great food and musical entertainment from the Harbour Buoys together with some “guest” entertainment……I’ll say no more!!
Tickets just £10 are still available but I suggest with the NY “break” at the Shop and Kiosk you contact me directly 07484 634667 or 01803 855329 or via this e-mail address, we can deliver if you do not expect to be over Brixham way this week.
So, it just remains for me to Thank You all for your friendship, support and another successful Fundraising year and wish you and your loved ones a very Safe, Healthy, Happy and Prosperous New Year.
Take Care
Peter
