One Crew Newsletter 24032026:
Recent Events:
Coffee Morning @ The Cimon; The usual warm welcome from Supporters Julia and Jamie formed the basis of a very enjoyable Event over in Torquay, we raised £210 and also said “Thank You” to Box Collector Barbara Lawton who is standing down after 60 years of volunteering for the RNLI at a number of other Branches. Peter presented Barbara with a framed Certificate.
John Risdon Talk “Galmpton & Churston – The Home Front 1939-1945”;- unfortunately John’s fascinating Talk about this “neck of our woods” was only attended by 11 Supporters which was a great shame!!

We still need volunteers to cover the 2 Entrances 11 a.m. – 7.30 p.m. (for a couple of hours). This was a mega Event last year bringing in £9k and now, spanning the full weekend it should be an even bigger Fundraiser, but we do need YOUR help to make it so.

“Going the Extra Mayday Mile” Sunday 31 May 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Again volunteers to help in the gazebo will be much appreciated, contact Nige or myself.
Nige:
Those of you who were at the Annual Review meeting in February will have heard me “warn” about losing staunch supporters, especially those people who make things like Events happen. Nigel as our Events Co-ordinator, is one of those key people, his house is on the market and is starting to attract interest. Ness wishes to move to the Midlands to be closer to her family.
Whilst personally I will be extremely sad to see Nige go, it would be of great benefit to TLF if someone was to come forward to understudy Nige whilst he is still with us. Personal organisation skills are an essential part of the role but so is enthusiasm, something Nige has in barrel-loads!
Could it be YOU, it could even be two people, that provides fall-back opportunities.
Please contact Nige for more info.
In a day or so I will be circulating details of a Black-Tie Dinner the Crew have organised at the Grand Hotel, Torquay on Friday 8 May, and to which we have been invited to participate in. I just thought there was sufficient for you to digest in this Newsletter.
Take Care
Peter
