One Crew Newsletter 14042026:
Welcome to our latest Newsletter – and you can now find the Events Programme for May – August HERE.
We also welcome Jacky Edworthy who is understudying Nige as our Events Co-ordinator pending his possible house move. Jacky’s details are on the Fundraising Crew page.
Recent Events:
Coffee Morning @ Offshore Bar & Restaurant was a good event at this location, thanks to owner Brett Morton.
Souvenirs/Cover the Flag @ Pier Point last Saturday; unfortunately, as has happened occasionally in the past, the weather was not kind to us and we had to abandon things, part way through the morning due to wind and eventual rain. Thanks to those brave souls who looked after things until we arrived back to dismantle everything.
Future Events:
Cover the Flag & Stalls: May 2nd – 4th 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
First weekend in May means Pirate Festival and Cathy & Hazel have a full 3-day CtF programme outside LBS and we have our traditional Stalls there on the Sunday 3rd, so if you can spare an hour or so running a stall or helping with preparation and/or the clearing up Nige and I would be please to hear from you.
Our new Crafts Team (Carol, Karen & Debbie) will be selling their crafted wares, and one stall which is always popular is Cakes/Jams etc, Barbara is a bit indisposed at moment and Noreen is on holiday so all donations will be really welcome!!
Offshore Food & Music Festival; Sat & Sunday 9th & 10th 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. @ The “Banjo” between Princess Theatre & Marina Car Park.
Entrance to the Event is by donations (bucket or contactless card machines) and we will be handing out wristbands to customers. We will have 2 Entrances and we learnt last year to have plenty of volunteers to run those Entrances. So please let Debbie 07799 055680 or Nige or me know if you can help. Don’t forget we raised £9k at this Event last year on just ONE day so with the full weekend at our disposal, the sky’s the limit!!
Black-Tie Dinner, Grand Hotel, Torquay Friday 8th May
Organised by the Crew I circulated details (Menus & Bookings) previously so dig the information out, promises to be a great evening.
Coffee Morning @ Berry Head Hotel, Tuesday 12th May 10 a.m. – 11.30 a.m.
We know a number of you like to get these CM events in your diaries, so, usual attractions, Raffle, Cakes/Jams (donations appreciated) only £3 on the Door at one of our favourite and popular venues.
Morrisons Bucket Collection; Monday & Tuesday 18th & 19th May 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Angela has arranged our first Bucket Collection of the year at Morrisons, another good venue.
Contact Angela Lucas or me if you can spare an hour or so.
“Warning”
For some of you this may be the last Newsletter you receive as Anne still has many Supporters who have not renewed their membership, despite being contacted personally by Anne. This is quite disappointing as the Branch needs your membership to meet our overheads such as Printing (the Events posters Sally designs) postage and office consumables. So please do contact Anne before the end of April or drop your Subs into the Shop or Kiosk with your name clearly marked on the envelope.
Until next time
Take Care
Peter
