Recent Events:
Our April Coffee Morning at the Old Market House raised £393.70, a great result and many thanks to all of you who attended and contributed to that figure.

The Pirate Weekend which had a blend of Cover the Flag (3 days) and Stalls on the Sunday brought in a superb £1,320.70p.  The weather was, overall, kind to us and we are sure kept the customers flocking to the LBS.  Many thanks to all our Volunteers who helped the weekend go so well.

Coffee Mornings (General):
Recently the Committee reviewed our charging policy for our Coffee Mornings, whilst they are obviously a great fundraiser, we debated whether charging £3 for a “second cup” was actually equitable therefore under normal circumstances we will charge £1.50.

However our Hosts are always very kind and generous to us and so there may be occasions (like next week at the Berry Head Hotel) where they feel the second cup should be chargeable, we totally understand this and so, if you wish to have a “top up” at the BHH please pay the Bar Staff £2.20p. I am sure it will be well worth it.

Berry Head Hotel Wednesday 10 May 10 – 11.30:
Yes one of our most popular locations, Lucinda, Kaye and their staff always look after us well.  We will have our usual Raffle (thank you Doug & Jen) and our Cake Stall (Barbara & Denise) whilst Noreen will keep the biscuits flowing.  Usual £3 a head and I look forward to seeing as many of you there.

Kilimanjaro Presentation – Brixham Rugby Club Wednesday 17 May 7.30 – 9.30:
Since returning from the Climb, the Team have been gathering snippets (video/photos etc) of ALL their escapades throughout 2022/2023 and we will have a chance to be the first people to view their arduous achievements.  Just £5 a head which includes Refreshments.

Quiz Night – Brixham Cricket Club 24th May:
Bit of uncertainly about pre-Quiz food here.  In January they were certain of appointing a new catering team by February but that doesn’t seem to have happened.  I am awaiting a response from them regarding this, however, we intend to go ahead with the Quiz and would suggest you arrive in plenty of time for an 8pm start.  Teams of no more than 6, £3 per player and Raffle available on the night, with some nice Vino for the winning 3 teams.

Our Lifeboat Station:
Not something I tend to “dabble” in but hopefully you will be aware of Cridds’ retirement as our Coxswain after so many wonderful years of exemplary service and of course we all wish him and Mel, all best wishes in the future.  Stepping up to the “plate” is Jason Stride and I am sure you will join with me in wishing Jason all very best wishes as he takes on that crucial mantle of principal Coxswain.

Well that is all for now, a continued Thank You for all you do for TLF and I’ll shortly be begging for some help at some of our Fundraising events in June & July so keep those Inboxes open!!
