Social Media Officer:
We had the sad news that Vanessa Wade-Coates (Ness) who took over the role from Sparks, is finding it difficult to balance her full-time job and a health issue with keeping our Face Book page up to date.
As many of you appreciate social media is proving essential for organisations like us to meet public requests and for us to effectively spread the news about our activities. Ness will carry on until end of January, for which I am very grateful, but if you think you or someone you know, could take over, please do contact Ness (v_wade@sky.com) to discuss.

Box Collectors Required – Urgently:
Boxes bring in so much needed donations to our Lifeboats however due to collectors moving out of the area together with health issues we need replacement collectors in all areas but particularly in Paignton and Torquay.
If you feel you can help please contact;-Gerry Chapple (Paignton) gerrychapple@hotmail.com 07790 169805

Our TLF run Retail Kiosk at the Torbay Lifeboat Station is a busy shop with many of our local supporters and holiday makers returning year after year to purchase their RNLI souvenirs, especially this time of year when we have a wide range of Christmas cards, calendars and diaries in stock!
We currently have some opportunities to join the Kiosk team, volunteering for just a couple of hours to help our fundraising for the RNLI.
The shifts we have available are…..
· Monday afternoons
· Second Sunday morning of each month
· Fourth Sunday morning of each month
· Fifth Sunday morning – just a few each year
If you would like to join our local Retail team, please contact Angela Osborne on 07837 863363.
Lifeboat Fundraising Organisation – Volunteers
The RNLI Torbay Lifeboat Fundraising Team (TLF) work throughout the year to raise funds to support the RNLI and the two Torbay lifeboats, which serve all 3 towns within Torbay -Torquay, Paignton and Brixham. An ALB Station costs in excess of £215,000 a year to run so TLF’s fundraising is vital to support RNLI operations. Our local Fundraising Team, like most Charities, rely on enthusiastic volunteers to raise the funds necessary to maintain and operate our lifeboats. Whilst the RNLI is a National Charity our sea area of Torbay and beyond is among the busier in terms of ‘rescue services’ carried out and therefore we look to the local population to help us maintain this service. To put this into context the annual revenue costs of maintaining our volunteer crew and lifeboats for Torbay is close on £250,000 pa.

Torbay Lifeboat Fundraisers have some great RNLI volunteering opportunities available at our Brixham based RNLI Shops on Kings Quay and opposite Torbay Lifeboat Station. We are seeking a Volunteer Shop Manager for our new Kings Quay Shop and also Retail Volunteers for specific shifts at our Torbay Lifeboat Station Shop.
If you are looking for a volunteering opportunity one of these roles could be just right for you.Let us know if you are interested by emailing rnlitlf@gmail.com with your full contact details.
To help us meet our TLF fundraising aspirations and in preparation for when we are back to a full fundraising programme, we are looking for additional volunteers to join our team in the following roles……
• Box collectors – joining our Paignton and Torquay teams who empty our collection boxes in those areas.
• Catering team assistants
If you, or someone you know, are interested in being more actively involved with our TLF fundraising, one of the above vacancies could certainly be for you!
We can give you training and support for all these roles.
Please get in touch – email us at rnlitlf@gmail.com or give us a call on 07716 117875 and we can provide you with more information on each role.
Please email form to rnlitlf@gmail.com or print and return completed form to:-
