Whilst out on a towing exercise with the ‘Dart Princess’, our ALB was contacted directly by the Coastguard to proceed to the south side of Corbyn Head where a child was stuck on a slope on the coastline.
We arrived on the scene at 4:40pm. Although he was not in immediate danger, we launched the on-board Y-boat and onto standby in case. With a force 6 wind a sea based rescue was judged not to be the best option for a safe recovery, so a rescue was carried by coastguard and fire brigade using a hydraulic platform whilst we stood by.
