Both boats paged due to weather and darkness following reports of a person in the water between Paignton Harbour and the pier.
It was called in by a friend on the beach.
However neither boats launched as the person was back on the beach as Police, Ambulance and Coastguard arrived.
There was a big turnout from the crew with 16 plus arriving at the Boathouse
