Tasked following a 999 call received by Falmouth Coastguard from a lady hearing shouting from small yacht in Brixham Harbour.
It was decided to launch the ILB to investigate!
It came to our attention that a barge had broken free from the quay and only held on by a single spring line, the barge only being 10m from the yacht and bearing down on it, in a Force 6 gusting Force 8 Easterly Wind creating a decent swell in the harbour.
The decision was taken to tow the yacht to a safer berth with it having two persons on board, which they had only just acquired the yacht.
During this time the Coastguard and owners of the barge gave time to secure the vessel back to the quay.
