Initially ILB paged to assist Devon and Cornwall Police locate a casualty at the bottom of Thatcher Point
However, ILB requested ALB be launched to assist, also advised by Solent Coastguard that the Coastguard Rescue Team & Helicopter Rescue 187 had also been tasked.
ILB arrived on scene and transferred two crew members (including an off duty A&E Doctor) to the rocks.
Casualty was found to be wet/cold, approximately 2m from the waters edge, fully clothed. Confirmed as breathing, condition assessed, Oxygen given, probably spinal injuries.
Additional crew were transferred from ALB to location to also assist (included off duty para-medic).
Casualty was transferred to a TPOD (Trauma Pelvic Orthotic Device) pelvic binder, then to a spinal board, and then via ILB to Meadfoot Beach to rendezvous with the Coastguard Rescue Team and Ambulance.
Helo Rescue 187 stood down and the ILB returned to location to transfer ALB crew from shore back to ALB.
Both boats then returned to station.
