Coast Guard reported that a person was missing.
The ILB was launched immediately and the ALB shortly after to carry out a shoreline search from Shoalstone to Berry Head.
The Police search teams were already carrying out a land search and the Coast Guard Rescue Teams (CGRT) had already been called.
A casualty was spotted by the ALB on the south tip of Berry Head about halfway down the cliff. The Air Ambulance attended and a Coast Guard (CG) helicopter was tasked to aid recovery whilst a cliff rescue was set up on-scene, with a drone unit deployed. However, the casualty was sadly found to be deceased.
The CGRT elected to carry out a cliff recovery, the lifeboats remained on scene until we and the CG helicopter were stood down at 12:02.
Both lifeboats returned to station and were back on service at 12:27.
