Paged by Solent Coastguard following multiple reports of a windsurfer on their own and possibly in trouble between Thatcher Rock and Orestone.
The ALB launched and headed west of Orestone in what was WNW force 6.
Windsurfer was spotted 1.4 miles west of Hopes Nose after what he said his final thing he could do was raise his red and white sail being so exhausted.
Luckily one member of the crew saw this and the windsurfer was recovered wet and exhausted.
Taken to Torquay harbour not needing medical attention.
