Our volunteers launched our In-shore Lifeboat (ILB) at 1.35pm , tasked by HM Coastguard to go to the help of two female teenagers who were spotted perched on rubber rings being blown out to sea by an off-shore wind at Goodrington.
One of the two girls could swim, the other was not as accomplished. The ‘swimmer’ swam safely to shore, the ‘non swimmer’ was picked up by our ILB crew and landed safely ashore into the care of the Coastguard Rescue Team (CRT).
Both girls were thankfully safe and without injury, nor were they showing any signs of hypothermia.
ILB returned to station.
