Alerted by Solent Coastguard following the accidental activation of an emergency position-indicating radiobeacon (EPIRB) 20 miles out in the Channel.
Our volunteers had already assembled at the boathouse by 4.50am when we were stood down when it was confirmed by HM Coastguard that the EPIRB had gone off by accident and all aboard the owner’s vessel were safe and well.
