Alerted after two persons were reported seen in the water off Paignton Pier at 05:32am on Saturday 19th October.
Crew assembled, went to immediate readiness, and then to launch 05:43am.
Both persons exited the water as the ILB approached, were stopped by Coastguards on the beach and transferred to Police and ambulance who had been called in.
ILB returned to station at 06:20am and was made ready for service by 6:30am.
