Launched to assist a dog seen swimming in the water in Brixham’s inner harbour near the town jetty by the Prince William pub.
A member of the public reported the incident to the Coastguard, by which time the dog had made it onto some rocks, where she was then stranded, alone and a tad disconsolate in the semi darkness. The local Coastguard Rescue Team (CRT), quickly on the scene, were however unable to reach her from above. And so we were called to assist water-side.
It didn’t take long to reach her. Our crew managed to coax her onto our D-Class lifeboat and we brought her back to the station by 7:32pm where we contacted her owner to come collect her.
